英語課三分鐘演講稿1
people are like tea bags—you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are." i can still remember the words that dad said to me years ago. when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.
i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept. nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i caught a high fever again when young, mum had to send for the doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no use. so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went downstairs. things became different at the time i went down alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the inner myself had been existing all the time. seeing the anxious mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could see that mum was trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand. she didn't know that her little girl had stealthily grown up. since then, i became stronger. as you see now, standing in front of you is a confident and sunny girl. in my grown-up life, i've never cried for being injured no matter how serious it is. i can even go to the hospital alone when mum and dad are on business. i came acroso many difficulties in life, while i've never thought of giving up. thanks to that extraordinary experience at my age of ten, i discovered a person inside myself who has been so important and unique to me. just like what dad had told me before, "people are like tea bags—you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are."

genghis khan, "khan of khans", was the great leader of mongolians. at the end of 12th century, he united mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to expand his huge mongolian empire, which extended from south china to the caspian sea. in 1277, khan attacked the west xia kingdom (presently ningxia) and encountered strong resistance. he died of disease and age. the great emperor was later buried secretly according to mongolian custom. it says that after the burial 2,000 men were slaughtered by some 800 soldiers who were in turn executed so that the location of the real tomb remains a secret. there are four sacrifice ceremonies held annually to commemorate the great hero and leader of the mongolian people. the ceremony, held on march 21st on lunar calendar, is the grandest. after the ceremony, horse racing, archery and wrestling are held as entertainment.

it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. this sweltering summer of the negro's legitimate discontent will not pauntil there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. and those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to busineas usual. and there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights. the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges. but there is something that i must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: in the proceof gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterneand hatred. we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force. the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. and they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. we cannot walk alone.
and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. we cannot turn back. there are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as the negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. we can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. we cannot be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in new york believes he has nothing for which to vote. no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousnelike a mighty stream.

good morning/afternoon!
first thing first, i gotta say, wow,it’s funny thing to be given a chance like that.trurh be told,i really got a little bit nervous before i stand right here ,so called ‘stage fright’.if you look specifically on me .you may find my hands shaking, pretty assembles the guy who suffered from pakinson’s disease, and legs wobbling ,like i caught so-called ball leg. okay, let’s stop going around the bush and get back to my topic today.i really like to talk a funny story i have just heard.a lady called lucy emigrated to united states several years ago. her spoken english is not that fluent .and one day,she is just sitting on the couch with his u.s friends mandy watching sit-com.a noise of bump had the attention of mandy, which led her to go out of the house trying to figure out what had happened.can you imagine that mandy go straight out with merely a sweater.so lucy shouted at her,”lucy ,turn your clothes on.”
what suprised her most, beyond her wildest imagination, is that almost all the male in this country took their head out of the window.admittedly, lucy made a mistake here .the word spitted means mandy is totally naked to the reason that male looked out of the window.the right sentence shall be,”put your clothing on.”the story inspires you sto take a careful look on the vast difference between eastern and western culture. that’s full of it,thank you for your time!

Good evening,Ladies and Gentlemen: Thank you very much for choosing to come in such a cold night.Today my topic is about choice and process.A research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one day. With so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference. Life is a box of chocolate, you never know what you will get. Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings, the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. Take myself as an example,I changed my major when I became a postgraduate. After the choice, days have been harsh for me.I cannot understand the new lessons at all. For they are closely related to mathmatics which I learned nothing about before. However wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself,I persisted. I asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life. Gradually I could understand some parts and even found maths interesting. Moreover,I learned to act instead of complaining. In retrospect, the choice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four months becomes an unforgetable experience in my life. NO matter what the choice is,enjoy the process. In the process, your potential will be inspired and new discoveries, improvement and progress will come to you. These are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you see it.These make your life colorful. There is no need and I donnot want to judge whether it right or wrong for me to be here, but I congratulate to myself for I gain and enjoy this fantastic experience. So my dear friends, never worry about your choice and enjoy the process. I am sure you will get something new and intersting tonight after you chose to come here. Thank you!

this is a glass of water, tasteless, right? however if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will become bitter. the same is true with our life the flavor is created by our choices. if kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend;but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp. so my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. if don’t like the taste of your life, changethe ingredients. three year ago, i weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant d1x-0.html" target="_blank" >embarrassment and frustration in my life. like always failing my p.e examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. it was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. she said “ my dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. so i began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. by choosing to change my outlook on life, i developed the confidence to make a difference and finally i found a totally new world. so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance areadded to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. and hopefully with my speech included, you will have afantastic speech contest.

Good afternoon:
Honorable judges dear teachers and close friends. I’m very glad to stand here to share may speech with you, today I am going to talk about dreams. Everyone has a dream. Martin luther king had a dream-and we can recall his civil rights speech.Phil knight had a dream-and now the whole world knows his nike slogan “just do it”.
I also have a dream ,but not only a simple one .
When I was a small girl,my dream was that I would be a doctor when I grew up. I will be the first person who produces a new medicine. this kind of medicine can make teachers relax when they are busy correcting their students’ exercises and preparing their lessons. because one day when I woke up at midnight, I found my father, a senior Chinese teacher, was still busy with his work .i was deeply moved. I wish my father could be healthy and relaxed every minute. But now, I have another dream ,I want to learn English well. I love English , English language is now used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on interet and internation trade ning English makes me confident and brings me great pleasure. Everyday ,I read English following the tapes times, I watch english cartoons the weekend ,I often go to the English corner talking with different people there ,I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English . I ’will try my best .

Learn How to Say No
We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely.
When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something,we should just say so. Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally,we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them,a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.
